Suzuki says the Celerio features “an exceptionally roomy interior for an A-segment car” and has low CO2 emissions that comply with European environmental requirements. No other details were given about the Euro-spec version.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio unveiled in India is 3,600mm (141.7in) long, 1,600mm (63in) wide and 1,560mm (61.4in) tall and weighs between 810 and 830 kg (1,786-1,830 lbs). Boot volume is 235 liters (8.3 cubic-feet).
Just like the concept car and the current Suzuki Alto, the production version is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine that produces 67 hp and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque. Mated to an automated manual transmission, the Celerio returns 23.1 km/l (4.3 l/100 km) in the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) mileage test. In India, the Celerio is offered with an optional five-speed manual gearbox.
The Celerio will be built in Thailand starting this year and will be sold worldwide.
